Necropolis WIP 2

A couple weeks ago I started working on a remake of Necropolis from Overwatch for TF2. Here are a few screenshots of my progress so far.

It's been fun to work on so far and it's the first time I've really tried using displacements seriously. It's not exactly a one to one remake, scaling wise it's slightly smaller than the original map.

The only major things I have left to do are to build the mountains surrounding the place and 3D skybox stuff. After that it will just be polishing what I have. Hopefully I will be able to have it done by the end of the month, really looking forward to releasing this. 😀

Necropolis WIP

This is a TF2 mapping project I've been working on for the past week or so, a recreation of the map Necropolis from Overwatch. I started it because I thought it would play well as a VSH map, and also it seems like good practice.

I need to go through and readjust some rough spots but I got the base layout about finished. I want to try and go all out with TF2's Egypt assets and artpass it as best as I can. Artpassing is something I really need to get better at.

The last time I did something with the Egypt theme was with a map I made a few years ago called vsh_casbah. I think I did a decent job back then, looking at it now though it looks a bit blocky in places.

I've improved a lot since then and I hope to show it with this mew map. 😁

Blogger App

I'm writing this post from the Blogger app and I just want to write out a few of my thoughts on it.

The UI is sleek and modern in appearance but its lacking a lot of features from the web version. I can't access any of my blogs visitor stats and I can't edit my blogs settings. The word processing has also been stripped back with no way to add heading tags or any other more advanced stuff.

To be honest I wouldn't mind the stripped back features if they added a way to look at your reading list. Reading through blogs in bed is a comfy way to go to sleep but I guess I'll need to find a different app to manage my list.

Here's a picture of my bedroom's window this morning. There no options to scale the picture so it'll probably end up breaking in my theme. Which is probably more of my fault for using such an old one. Weirdly enough it started snowing right as I took this picture. 😄
